Room history
The castle came into the possession of the Degenfeld family trough marriage, who stayed here until 1944. Degenfeld Lajos was the last person who worked as a professional politician. He loved the countryside so when he finished his studies, he began farming on his properties in Nógrád county and taking part in the public affairs of the county. In 1872 the Szirák district chose him to join the Parliament, where he was a part of the leftist party. Later, he became the count of Nógrád county.
